Reviews from some of our guests:
The home is stunning, warm & peaceful. You will NOT be disappointed!
We were so lucky to find this beautiful fortress during the recent winter storm, the hospitality was A1! I really enjoyed all the authenticity from the natural eggs that our breakfast was made with & sweet jam conserves made with love by Connie. This West Tx girl really appreciated that treat.
The home is stunning, warm & peaceful.
You will NOT be disappointed, we can’t wait to visit again!

The Lancaster Manor Bed and Breakfast is a hidden gem in Gainesville, TX!
The Lancaster Manor Bed and Breakfast is a hidden gem in Gainesville, TX! Connie and John are the most amazing hosts and make your stay an experience! The manor has a lot of history associated with it and you can see how it is keep alive the moment you pull up. Almost all of the house has the original floors, windows and doors. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are very comfortable. Connie takes your breakfast order and what time you would like to eat. She and her husband, Chef John, will cook your breakfast fresh from scratch with farm raised ingredients. I will definitely be back!!

Our stay at the Lancaster Manor was absolutely wonderful!
Our stay at the Lancaster Manor was absolutely wonderful! Connie and John Lancaster are a beautiful couple and made our stay so positive and welcoming. My husband and I booked our stay during the winter storm that left mostly all of Texas without electricity or hot water, yet that still didn’t stop the Lancaster’s from surpassing our expectations. Although they didn’t have electricity themselves, they were extremely prepared. They had gas heaters in every room and Connie heated up warm water for my husbands bath by boiling water on the stove. Warm water wasn’t available, however they still made it happen! As soon as we arrived Connie gave us a tour and had freshly baked banana nut bread and brownies ready for us, while John took our bags to our room. The next morning my husband and I had a beautiful private breakfast that was delicious. John makes the best omelettes and Connie makes the yummiest fruit parfaits. If you haven’t booked here you definitely should!

My husband and I were floored with the beauty, history, 5-star service and food, and the personal touch!
Had a private dinner for two at The Lancaster Manor. My husband and I were floored with the beauty, history, 5-star service and food, and the personal touch Connie and John Lancaster provided! We didn’t stay overnight this time but look forward to staying soon. I haven’t felt this close to home (away from home) in many years. If you want an authentic and heart felt experience, not just an average stay, Lancaster Manor is a must.
For dinner, you’ll want to order ahead as all of the food is locally sourced and marinated over night. It’s clear the Lancaster’s are far too humble to admit this but their culinary skills are absolutely superb. A Mediterranean salad that sings to my heart. Our steaks were cooked exactly to order .. only better with that amazing marinade!, crisp asparagus, roasted potatoes and sweet potatoes… and the homemade banana cheesecake was out of this world!
If you’re a history aficionado, there is plenty the Lancaster Manor has to offer. I won’t give away all her gems, you’ll need to check that out yourself. Suffice it to say this couple has the passion and charm only old-world travelers ever find. Once you step inside, you’ll be pleasantly transported to another world. Go, stay, eat, and tell your friends.

It was, from beginning to end, hands down, the most enjoyable weekend we have spent on a getaway.
My wife and I stayed at the Lancaster Manor for our 1 year anniversary. It was, from beginning to end, hands down, the most enjoyable weekend we have spent on a getaway. John and Connie are down to earth, loving people who truly love what they do and it eeks into the atmosphere, the nuances, the steak, the bene’s, and jam. We are forever grateful for the time we got to spend in the manor and with the owners. The future says to go back again.

Our time at the Lancaster Manor was unforgettable!
Our family had a wonderful stay at the Lancaster Manor! Our family needed a few special accommodations due to some changes in our original vacation and I found Connie and John very responsive and extremely helpful. The historic home was beautiful and we enjoyed the decor of the Cowboy room- we all slept great too! Loved the pool and hot tub and it really made our stay entertaining. John’s chef skills were beyond our expectations and breakfast was delicious and decadent! Connie made some yummy banana bread that we had when we arrived and I had to buy more to bring home- it was that good!! My husband and I enjoyed chatting with John about the house and we felt like we had known him and Connie for years. We really needed this getaway and appreciate the thoughtfulness of both Connie and John to make our time at the Lancaster Manor unforgettable! We will definitely be back! Thank you both!

An amazing stay for our 26th anniversary!
My wife and I had an amazing stay for our 26th anniversary! Connie and John went out of their way to ensure we were extremely well cared for. The Rose Room was amazing and we especially enjoyed having our own fireplace and a super comfy bed, but the most unexpected highlight was the food. We opted to have dinner at the house which was served in the old Butler’s pantry and it was absolutely the perfect decision. Everything was delicious, but I won’t soon forget the Cajun bourbon butter marinated filet, the roasted potatoes and the banana cheesecake. Breakfast the next morning well exceeded our expectations as well, especially based on past stays at other B&Bs.
Connie & John have set the bar extremely high. Their attention to detail and attentiveness to their guests will certainly have us visiting them again!
